Police opened an investigation today into the mysterious disappearance of two large silver Torah Crowns from the tomb of King David on Mount Zion in Jerusalem. The Torah Crowns, which were found missing after Tisha B’av services last Sunday, are the biggest and most valuable of the 17 usually adorning the Torah Scrolls of the Tomb.
This is the first time in Israel that anything has been stolen from the tomb of King David. A wide search for the stolen crowns has been initiated by the police authorities.
