Sir Isaac Isaacs, former governor-general of Australia, was honored last night at a dinner tendered by the Jewish organization, the Maccabaeans. Sir Herbert Samuel presided.
Sir Herbert characterized Sir Isaac’s career as “the best reply to what is going on in other countries” in reference to Jews.
Numerous Government officials were present. The speakers included Marquis Huntington, Undersecretary for the Dominions; Lord Wright, Master of the Rolls; Marquis Reading, and Sir Michael Myers, Chief Justice of New Zealand.
