Sir Lewis Bernstein Namier, 73, noted British historian died today. Dr. Namier served as political secretary for the Jewish Agency from 1929 to 1931.
Dr. Namier was born in Warsaw and became a naturalized British citizen. During World War I he served in the British army and subsequently served in the political intelligence division in the Foreign Office. From 1931-1953 he was Professor of Modern History at Manchester University. He was the author of a number of books, one of which included essays on Jewish problems.
