“situation in Warsaw Ghetto is Catastrophic,” Polish Government Hears

News received here today by the Polish Government from occupied Poland emphasized that “food conditions in Warsaw are very bad and that in the Jewish ghetto they are almost catastrophic.”

“The Germans,” the report says, “deliberately try to raise the death man and reduce the birth rate among the Jews. This they do in a “scientific” manner by allotting food supplies that are not sufficient to maintain life According to a Jewish undertaker 800 of the 400,000 Jews in the Warsaw ghetto are dying daily. There are not enough doctors in the ghetto and there is a serious shortage of drug and medicine.”
