Twenty-eight Jewish midshipmen, members of the 1949 graduating class of the U.S. Naval Academy, each received from the National Jewish Welfare Board a Bible inscribed with his name. The presentation was made by Mrs. Ruben Labovitz, chairman of J.W.B.’s Annapolis Armed Services Committee, during the annual Jewish baccalaureate service conducted at the Kneseth Israel Synagogue by Rabbi Morris D, Rosenblatt, Jewish chaplain at Annapolis.
