Hubert von Bose, secretary of the Vice Chancellory and intimate collaborator of Vice Chancellor Franz von Papen, who was one of the men who lost their lives in the suppression of the Roehm revolt, was a Catholic theologian and a master of the Hebrew and Yiddish tongues, a friend revealed to the Jewish Telegraphic Agency.
During the World War and the German occupation of Poland, von Bose was chief of the German censorship of the Jewish press. He frequently discussed with Jewish friends and acquaintances problems of the Jewish religion, it was recalled.
