Conan Doyle is Raising Fund for Legal Costs (Jewish Telegraphic Agency)

Oscar Slater will be gives a second opportunity to establish his innocence after he was released from prison having served a term of eighteen years, according to a hill passed in the second reading by The House of Lords yesterday.

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle issued a statement in which he declared that he assumes responsibility for the legal costs of the new trial. Sir Arthur made the statement at a dinner given to Gustave Tuck by several Jewish societies. Lionel Rothschild presided.

Sir Arthur appealed to the Jewish community to subscribe to this fund.
