Of the thirty-five leading positions in the present administration of Palestine, only two, exclusive of the High Commissioner’s position, are held by Jews.
There are two other held by individuals of Jewish descent, but who nominally at least are not Jews.
This statement was made by Ormsby Gore in Parliament, in reply to a query by Philip Snowden, the labor leader. Mr. Gore pointed out that he had already given an answer to the same question on a previous date, but Snowden desired not only to know the members of the administration who were full fledged Jews but those of Jewish origin professed to be otherwise.
