The four-day meeting of the South African Zionist Conference will open here Saturday night following a series of meetings which began here last night under the auspices of the South African Women’s Zionist Conference. Zionist youth and other parleys were scheduled to open today. Delegates attending the meetings come from all parts of the Union as well as Rhodesia.
Meir Grossman, member of the Jewish Agency executive who arrived here last night from Jerusalem, will be one of the principal speakers at the four-day conclave. Newly-appointed Israel Consul-General for South Africa, Edward Goitien, received a tumultous ovation when he brought greetings from his government to the women’s parley.
