A traditional Jewish burial was given this week in Stettin to a quantity of German-produced soap made from fat rendered from the corpses of Jews. The soap, which was believed to have been sold in Stettin by Germans who passed through the city on route from Poland from which they were expelled, bore the initials R.I.F., the German initials for the words “Pure Jewish Fat.” It is thought to have been manufactured in a factory near Danzig which the Nazis set up to produce soap from human fat.
