The Social Democratic Party in the Federal German Parliament will soon sponsor a motion urging the passage of a law under which the West German Government would recognize the state of Israel as the legal heir of unclaimed Jewish property in Germany, it was reported here today. The motion will specify that the unclaimed property must be handed over to Israel or be made available to Israel for aid to Jews driven from Germany.
The motion will also urge the West German Government to issue a statement acknowledging a special moral obligation to indemnify Jews persecuted by the Nazi regime, the report said.
