Solomon Joseph Solomon. President of the Royal Society of British Artists and member of the Royal Academy of Arts. died here at the age of 66.

Mr. Solomon was together with Israel Zangwill one of the founders of the Society of Jewish Artists and Writers in Great Britain. He was also vice-president of the Maccabeeans.

At the beginning of the war. Mr. Solomon drew attention to the need for camouflage in modern warfare, and initiated it in the British army. where he had the rank of colonel.

Among his paintings is one called the ## of King George”. He also painted the portraits of Ramsay Ma####. Israel Zan?will. Lord As### and others. He was the author of “Strategic Ca####”. published in 1920.
