Some 10 Jewish families are due to move this week into a controversial housing project built in the eastern Jerusalem neighborhood of Ras el-Amud. Another 10 families are due to move in after the Passover holiday, the Israeli daily Ha’aretz reported. The construction is on a plot purchased by American businessman Irving Moskowitz. Palestinians and left-wing Israeli groups have unsuccessfully tried to block the project in the courts.
