Some 200,000 people turned out for a memorial rally for slain Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin at the Tel Aviv square where he was assassinated two years ago. Natan Sharansky, Israel’s minister of industry and trade and the only government representative to address the rally, complained that the event was more a political rally for the left wing than a non-partisan demonstration for unity.
