Some 8,000 Jewish teenagers from around the world will take part in Tuesday’s March of the Living at the site of Auschwitz. Former Israeli Prime Minister Shimon Peres, whose family came from Poland and who lost relatives in the Holocaust, will join the march. The March of the Living is an annual event in memory of the 6 million Jews killed in the Holocaust. The participants march from Auschwitz to Birkenau, where the crematoriums helped exterminate more than 1.1 million Jews.
