Funeral services were held today for Sophie Udin, of New York, a pioneer in the field of library science who organized the State Archives and is credited with having developed Israel’s network of libraries. She died Sunday after a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Udin, who came to Israel from the United States shortly after the establishment of the State, was one of the founders of the Association of Americans and Canadians in Israel. She lectured in library science at the Hebrew University.
