SOUTH AFRICAN JEWS DISAPPOINTED WITH U. N. FAILURE
The grave anxiety of South Africa’s Jews over the increasing Arab hostility toward Israel was expressed here today in a joint statement by the South African Board of Jewish Deputies and the South African Zionist Federation.
The statement recorded South African Jewry’s “solidarity with the people of Israel,” expressed “deep disappointment” at the failure of United Nations agencies to control the situation and voiced the hope that the UN authorities would adopt immediately measures to quench the Arab hostilities and avert the “danger of an upheaval.”
