A preliminary meeting of Jewish social service workers in the south will be held here Saturday and Sunday, to arrange for a conference of all Jewish communal agencies in the south. The general conference is to be held in this city some time in January and will discuss general problems and relationships.
Among the prominent Jewish social service workers who will take part in the preliminary conference are, Edward M. Kahn, executive director of the Federation of Jewish Charities in Atlanta and co-chairman of the committee on field service and regional meetings of the National Council of Jewish Federations and Welfare Funds; Miss Stella Lowenstein, executive director of the Memphis Federation of Jewish Welfare Agencies, and Mrs. G. A. Jacobs, southern regional chairman of the National Council of Jewish Federations.
