An etched glass memorial to the six million Jews killed during the Nazi holocaust will soon be erected in this small community in the northwest comer of the state which has less than 100 Jews of a total population of some 24,000. Abner Smiles of Pascagoula, Mississippi, a sculptor and engraver, has been commissioned to create this memorial by Rabbi J.S. Gal-linger of Temple B’nai Israel, known also as the Tri-Cities Congregation, and by Mrs. Morris Klibanoff who is the patron and sponsor of this art memorial. Mr. Smiles’ artistic style has been influenced by a number of internationally famed sculptors including the famous Jewish sculptor Chaim Gross.
