A resolution calling for representation of local communities in the new National Community Relations Advisory Council was adopted by the third annual conference of the Southwestern States Region of the Council of Jewish Federations and Welfare Funds held here.
More than 125 representatives from Texas, Oklahoma and Western Louisiana, who were attending the conference, passed another resolution authorizing the appointment of a committee to consider the formation of an independent regional community relations organization to deal with questions of civic-protection in the Southwest.
Other resolutions adopted by the group included one urging the abrogation of the Palestine White Paper and another calling upon communities through their federations and community councils to maintain unified activities in areas of common interest.
