The Soviet Government newspaper Izvestia today accused Israeli diplomats of smuggling “Zionist propaganda booklets” into the Soviet Union, according to reports received here. The Israelis were charged with “smuggling” printed matter and trying to distribute it at an agricultural exhibition in Moscow and in Leningrad, Kiev and Odessa.
“The competent Soviet organizations have taken all necessary measures to stop this illegal activity in which some Israeli tourists were also involved,” Izvestia reported.
