Orders for shipment of matzoh from Israel to individual addressees in the Soviet Union were being accepted here by Soviet shipping agents, beginning today.
The Peltours Travel Agency, an agent of Moscow’s Posyltorg, the Soviet agency for accepting packages abroad for delivery in the USSR, announced today it will accept orders for matzoh for this year’s Passover in packages ranging in weight from 6.6 pounds to 22 pounds. Payment must be made in Israeli pounds.
The payment here will include the cost of shipping as well as customs duty imposed by the USSR. According to the agency, first shipments, next month, will be by airmail. (Passover begins this year the evening of April 16.)
