Tass, the official news agency, announced today that under an agreement concluded last Thursday Germans residing in Soviet-annexed Poland will be permitted to migrate to the Reich, while Russians living in German-occupied Poland will be allowed to move to the U.S.S.R.
The exchange will affect only those persons of German, Ukrainian, Russian and White Russian nationality who elect to take advantage of it, according to the announcement. Practical questions involved in the agreement were settled “in the friendly spirit corresponding to the relations which have been established between the Soviet Union and Germany,” Tass said.
