Three million roubles were today assigned by the Soviet government as a special fund for the establishment of industrial enterprises in fourteen Jewish villages of Ukrainia. These undertakings will offer employment to the poor and declassed Jews in the villages selected. This sum does not include previous allotments for the industrialization of the declassed Jews in various parts of Ukrainia.
Within the next year the Soviet government is determined to industrialize 150,000 unemployed Jews and to find means of supplying the necessary raw materials for Jewish artisans for the lack of which they are suffering greatly, the correspondent of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency is officially informed.
In the meantime a special consultation has been held in Moscow between representatives of the Soviet government, the Ort, the Agro-Joint and the Comzet, the government department for settling the Jews on the land, at which it was pointed out that all the organizations engaged in relief work for the Jews suffer from the lack of a united plan and are consequently unable to effectively concentrate their work. In this connection it is learned that a commission to be appointed within the next ten days to work out a plan for the industrialization of the Jews will receive from the Soviet government the means necessary for carrying out its plans speedily.
