Lazar Kaganovich, First Deputy Premier of the Soviet Union, last night sharply attacked Israel at a dinner tendered by the Kremlin in celebration of the 38th anniversary of the Bolshevik Revolution.
The Soviet leader, who is the only Jewish member of the presidium of the Central Committee of the Communist Party in the USSR, made his attack in the course of a talk with Israel Ambassador Joseph Avidar, who was a guest at the dinner. His angry remarks against Israel were heard by other guests attending the function and were counteracted by a sharp retort from Mrs. Avidar, who asked Kaganovich whether he wants the Jews in Israel to be massacred by the Arabs.
