The Soviet Government is ready to subscribe one-fourth of all funds raised abroad for the purpose of promoting Jewish colonization according to a statement made by Presdent Kalinin in an interview with Bernard Edelbertz. owner of the “American Hebrew” who is now here.

The Soviet government intends to continue the Jewish colonization work, to allocate new land and to grant transportation and other facilities for this purpose. For every million dollars raised in America or elsewhere the Soviet government will give a quarter of a million for colonization work, Kalinin stated.

Dr. M. Wischnitzer. general secretary of the Hilisverein Deutscher Juden. arrived here yesterday and proceeded on his tour of the Jewish colonies in Cherson. Krivey Rog. Crimea and Odessa. He will also visit several towns from where the present settlers come.

When interviewed by the representatives of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency here. Dr. Wischnirzer stated that the Hilfsverein intended to participate in the Jewish colonization work last spring but the work was interrupted due to the death of Dr. Paul Nathan. The Hilfsverein is now beginning medical and cultural work in the colonies.
