A delegration of German Jews will probably leave shortly for Russia in order to see what action could be started in Germany to assist the endeavors of Russian Jewry to take their place in productive work. according to a statement made by Dr. Brodnitz, President of the Central Union of German Citizens of the Jewish Faith. Dr. Brodnitz presided at a meeting to make payment. In many villages Jews are being attacked and urged to leave their homes.
The Jewish population of Sofia still feels the effects of the excesses which took place here in the middle of June when twenty members of the Rodna Zashchita entered the cafe of Samuel Peretz and started a riot.
Serious excesses also took place in the Jewish quarter of Philippopolis. Several Jews were injured. The Philippopolis journal “Borba” states that the police has taken measures to prevent the recurrence of the anti-Semitic excesses.
The General Consistory of the Bulgarian Jewish communities has lodged a protest with the authorities.
