The Soviet government will permit the importation into the country of 50 carloads of matzoth for the needs of Orthodox Jewish families during the coming Passover.
A statement to this effect was transmitted today to Rabbi Hildesheimer by the Soviet Embassy here. The Berlin Committee for the Supply of Matzoth expressed the hope that the quantity will be sufficient to provide 20,000 Jewish families in Russia.
