The rules governing the status and functions of religious organizations in the Union of Socialist Soviet Republics were recast by the Wzik, Central Executive Committee.
The rules defining anew the functions of religious organizations state that religious bodies having a minimum of twenty members over eighteen years of age, retain their previous rights. These rights are, however, more clearly defined. The rules also define more specifically the manner in which houses of worship may be liquidated. Less than twenty adults may form a believers’ group. A special commission to supervise the enforcement of religious laws will be created by the Wzik.
