Jamming, believed to be caused by Soviet transmitters, has been interfering with reception of the Voice of America Hebrew-language broadcasts beamed to Israel. The jamming has blocked reception on two of the four shortwave frequencies used to relay the programs to Israel, but the other two frequencies have been getting through.
(State Department officials in New York confirmed that two of the frequencies used for the Hebrew-language programs to Israel have been suffering interference. The broadcasts started last Sunday.)
