Professor Leopold Palacios, the Spanish member of the Permanent Mandates Commission of the League of Nations, has just published in Madrid a book in Spanish on “The International Mandates of the League of Nations.”
The book consists of a number of addresses delivered by Professor Palacios at the end of 1927 to the Spanish Royal Academy of Social and Political Sciences.
The author touches upon the question of Palestine and Zionism. He gives a review of the work of the Mandates Commission in connection with the Palestine Mandate, dealing with the various petitions presented by the Arab Executive, the Vaad Leumi, the Vaad Ha’Askenazim, and with the memoranda submitted by the Zionist Organization. He makes references to conversations which he has had in Geneva with Dr. Chaim Weizmann and with Dr. Victor Jacobson on Zionist aspirations and the prospects in Palestine. The book contains a valuable bibliography of Zionism and Palestine.
