Nissim Lffandi Barishak, a member of the High Court of Appeals, who was also the Chairman of the Independent Order B’nai B’rith in turkey, has died at Adrianople, at the age of 70. Nissim Effendi was an active Jewish communal worker, and was closely associated with the reconstruction work conducted in Turkey by the Joint Distribution committee of America.
The entire Jewish population of Adrianople followed in the funeral, and all Jewish shops in the city were closed as a sign of mourning.
