Word was received here today that President Anwar Sadat of Egypt has written to President Nixon and Soviet Communist Party Secretary Leonid. Brezhnev asking them to send forces to the Middle East to police the cease-fire. As reported yesterday, the Jewish Telegraphic Agency learned from a UN source that the cease-fire might be supervised by U.S. and Soviet troops instead of UN observers. In another development today, Egypt has requested an urgent meeting of the Security Council to hear charges of continuing cease-fire violations by Israel. The meeting was expected to start late this evening.
