Autumn Jewish activities are getting under way here. B’nai B’rith and its auxiliary inaugurated a membership drive at a meeting attended by several hundred. Senior Hadassah will plan its annual donors’ luncheon at a meeting on October 8.
Aleph Api fraternity sponsored a Succoth dance at the “Y.” Another dance was held under the auspices of the Y. M. and Y. W. H. A.
The Masquers are planning an “open night” program for October 9, and have started rehearsals for the three-act play, “The Jazz Singer,” to be presented October 30. Miss Bess Hochberg is its coach.
The Council of Jewish Women will begin its season on October 8 with a reception and tea for new officers and members at Beth El Temple. The council will begin its annual drive for funds for its dental clinic next month under the direction of Mrs. Moses Asinof.
