The sale of $1, 104, 000 in Israel bonds was announced here at a dinner in honor of Charles Yalem, prominent Jewish leader and philanthropist, which marked the opening here of the 1966 campaign of the Israel Bond Organization. General Yigal Allon, Minister of Labor of Israel, joined over 1, 000 persons in saluting Mr. Yalem for his services to mankind.
The Israeli leader praised American Jewry for the support it has provided in helping Israel to achieve social and economic growth. Among the Israel bond purchases announced at the St. Louis dinner was $100, 000 by the International Brotherhood of Teamsters.
