Stanley M. Isaacs, the Republican minority leader in the New York City Council, for 60 years a political crusader and active in many Jewish causes, died early today at the age of 79 in his sleep. He apparently had suffered a heart attack. He was a member of the American Friends of the Hebrew University, a trustee at large of the Federation of Jewish Philanthropies of Greater New York, a vice-president of the United Jewish Appeal of Greater New York and a trustee of the West End Synagogue. He was a recipient of the Felix M. Warburg Memorial Award of the Federation for 25 years of service.
