Dr. Stanley Rypins, author, sociologist and English scholar of this city, has been appointed head of the English department of the College of the City of New York and will leave next month to take his new post. He is now director of academic studies at the San Francisco State Teachers College.
Dr. Rypins has to his credit distinguished work at Oxford and Harvard and is known for his research work in sociology. He recently returned from a study tour of Soviet Russia.
