A campaign to secure an amendment to the Sunday law of the penal code has been started by the Jewish Sabbath Alliance of America in the New York Legislature, State Senator Samuel Mandelbaum sponsoring it in the legislature.
The purpose of the amendment is to permit observers of the Sabbath on Saturday to attend business on Sunday. Eighteen states already grant exemption for labor and business to those observing a day of rest other than Sunday. All New York Jewish Organizations have been appealed to by the Alliance to get in touch with their Senators and Assmeblymen.
