The forced migration of Jews from many large cities in Germany to the Lublin “reservation” has been reported to the State Department, but the department does not believe that the Germans are now moving Jews from Berlin, as was reported by the British wireless last night.

The State Department has experienced considerable trouble in its endeavors to find out exactly what the Lublin “reservation” is like. “Not even the Jews in Berlin know what the Germans contemplate in Lublin,” one Government official said today. He likened Poland to a wilderness so far as obtaining any information upon the state of the interior of the country is concerned.

The State Department, because of its interest in the Intergovernmental Committee on Refugees, is making constant efforts to obtain more definite word on what is going on within the “reservation.”
