(JTA) — Representatives of both major Turkish parties, and of the city administration joined the two Jewish members of Turkey’s Grand National Assembly today in celebrating Israel’s tenth anniversary at a cocktail party given by the Israel Consul here. The Chief Rabbi was prevented from coming by illness.
FRANKFURT, April 27. (JTA) — The Israel Mission to West Germany gave its first diplomatic reception today in honor of Israel’s tenth anniversary. The function was held at the resort town of Bad Godesburg for 550 guests including members of the Federal Government and officers of the West German General Staff. Other celebrations were held in many cities, including one in Dusseldorf’s parliamentary building where Mission chairman Dr. F. Shinnar was the chief speaker.
BRUSSELS, April 27. (JTA) — Prince Albert of Belgium, representing his brother King Baudouin, visited an Israeli tenth anniversary celebration at the Israel Pavilion at the International Fair here. He was received by Israel Finance Minister Levi Eshkol and M. Rafael, Israel’s Minister here.
OSLO, April 27. (JTA) — An exhibition of Israeli paintings, timed to open with the celebration of Israel’s tenth anniversary, was inaugurated here this week-end by King Olaf V and Princess Astrid. Later, Ambassador M. Miron gave a reception for 500 Norwegians, prominent in the country’s life and in the Jewish community, to mark Israel’s independence.
