Peretz Stein, the Ukrainian Jew shot by Ukrainians in connection with the Schwartzbard trial, was released from the hospital following a successful operation to remove the bullets.

In a letter addressed to the Paris Yiddish daily “Pariser Haint,” Stein declared that he requires no financial assistance, which was offered to him. “I thank all those who offered me assistance, for their good intentions,” he stated.
