Although Max Braun, Saar Socialist leader who fought for maintenance of the status quo before the recent plebiscite, is not Jewish, that fact has not deterred Julius Streicher anti-Semitic overlord of Franconia, from branding Braun as a Jew because he is an opponent of Nazism.
“Max Braun belongs to that race and nation through whose mouth Walter Rathenau years ago said, ‘Three hundred men who know each other and who are linked by blood govern the world,'” Streicher declared during a speech in Adolf Hitler Square here.
“The Jew Max Braun was the emissary of the Jewish race,” he continued, “of the Jewish people who instructed him to prevent the people of the Saar from returning to their motherland.
HEADED ‘TERROR’
“Germans of Nuremberg, never forget that a Jew stood at the head of the terror! It was a Jew who, with the funds of the Jewish banks and the Jewish stock exchanges, strove to deprive 100,000 Germans of their right to belong to Germany.
“We shall never forget that a Jew was at the head of this infamy, and when we look beyond this victory into the future, what is our wish? We look forward to a day to come when the whole world will vote at a plebiscite at which the question will be put to all mankind: ‘Will you continue to make common cause with these murderers of Christ? Will you go on living together with them, will you continue to permit the Eternal People—the Jews—to oppress you and such of your blood?’
“Beyond this day of rejoicing we look into the future to the day of salvation, the day of liberation from the chains that the Jew has put upon humanity.
“We believe in world peace, but world peace will come only when the power of the Enemy of the World is broken. That Enemy of the World is the Eternal Jew, and we people of Nuremberg, we Franconians, are proud of the stand we have taken.
“We or our children, will live to see the day when the world has liberated itself from the Eternal Jew. That day will come.”
