A new Israel Student Center built by the Women’s League for Israel, an American group, was inaugurated today at the Hebrew University at a ceremony addressed by Mrs. Rachel Shazar, wife of Israel’s President, and Mrs. Golda Meir, Israel’s Foreign Minister, who both recalled their close association with the American women’s organization.
Other speakers were Prof. Yoel Racah, the university rector, and Spencer Barnes, United States charge d’affaires in Israel. A large delegation of Women’s League members attended the ceremony. Mrs. Jack Starr, the League’s president, told the assemblage that the Center was a “dream” come true shared with the university and students.
