The annual convention of the Student Zionist Organization opened at Camp Tel Yehudah here today with more than 20 college students from 60 colleges in this country and Canada in attendance.
The organization interprets Israel and Israeli developments to students on American campuses and encourages creative, cultural and educational exchanges between students of North America and Israel. One of the high points of the opening session was the honoring of 150 student members on the eve of their departure for study-work programs in Israel.
The Rev, Karl Baehr, executive director of the American Christian Palestine Committee, principal speaker at the opening session, declared that the existence of Israel and her accomplishments is making an “increasingly positive impression on Asian-African lands.
