ANTI-JEWISH DEMONSTRATIONS WERE STAGED HERE TODAY BY SOME 200 PUPILS OF A SECONDARY SCHOOL AND 50 NATIONALIST STUDENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY. SHOUTING “DEATH TO THE JEWS,” THE STUDENTS SMASHED WINDOWS IN A NUMBER OF JEWISH HOUSES BEFORE THEY WERE DISPERSED BY POLICE.
A COURT ACQUITTED A NATIONALIST STUDENT NAMED OLEINICZAK, WHO WAS CHARGED WITH PARTICIPATING IN THE MAY DAY ATTACK ON A JEWISH SOCIALIST PARADE DURING WHICH A FIVE-YEAR-OLD JEWISH BOY WAS KILLED. ALTHOUGH WITNESSES IDENTIFIED THE DEFENDANT THE COURT FREED HIM FOR LACK OF EVIDENCE.
