University and high school students in Demascus, Syria, held a “peaceful demonstration” demanding inclusion of Palestine in a “Greater Syria,” the Cairo radio reports.
The demonstrators carried placards and banners referring to the rights of the Arab people to Palestine, the broadcast said, adding that shops throughout the city were closed in support of the demonstration and to indicate support of the Arab stand on Palestine.
The Beirut radio today announced that prof, George Aql, a member of the Chamber of Deputies, presented a memorandum to the Chamber protesting against President Roosevelt’s recent statements in support of a Jewish National Home in Palestine, He urged that the Syrian Government lodge an official protest.
