University students throughout the country have contributed more than $40,000 to date toward the $100,000,000 goal of the United Jewish Appeal, it was announced here today by the U. J. A. headquarters.
Of the 30 colleges, universities and other institutions of higher learning represented in the student drive for the relief, rehabilitation and resettlement of Europe’s 1,400,000 homeless and destitute Jewish survivors, 18 are in the country at large, and 12 in greater New York. Outside New York City, the majority of campus drives were held under the auspices of the National Hillel Foundation, student cultural society of B’nai B’rith.
