Suit for $1,022,000 damages was brought by Al Rosen, film producer, against the Association of Motion Picture Producers and Distributors here yesterday on the charge that an attempt was made to restrain the production of “The Mad Dog of Europe”, a picture based on the life of Adolf Hitler. Will Hays, president of the association, and another official, are defendants in the action.
Mr. Rosen said that about $7,200 have been spent in preparation for the filming of the picture. On Oct. 5, he said, he received warning that he must cease in his production of the film. According to his statement Mr. Hays and F. W. Beetson, association secretary, promised to obstruct the filming operations.
