The publication of a sermon by Chief Rabbi Kecskemethy of Oradeamare on the desecration of the Holy Scrolls was prevented by the Roumanian authorities.
The Chief Rabbi, who delivered an address at the burial exercises of the desecrated Holy Scrolls on December 29, was urged by members of the Kehillah who were prevented from attending, to print his sermon in pamphlet form. The manuscript was submitted to the censor who refused permission for publication. The Chief Rabbi then appealed to Minister Tatarescu who asked the Rabbi to refrain from publishing this address.
