A survey by the American Jewish Committee here indicated that there is discrimination among major Los Angeles corporations in the hiring of Jews for top executive posts and their election to board membership. The results of the survey were made public today by Arthur Greenberg, chairman of the AJCommittee’s Los Angeles chapter. It covered the hiring techniques of 27 leading Los Angeles companies. It found that while 10 percent of Los Angeles’ population is Jewish, as are 20 percent of its college students, only six percent of the top corporation employees are Jewish. The figure is 51 out of 848 board members and senior management personnel.
